Produced & Directed by Strings Music Directed by Jaffer Zaidi #CokeStudio10 Licensed by EMI Pakistan A dark storm of emotions, this thumri is fueled by the thunderous arrangement of Jaffer Zaidi. Honing in on the pain and anguish that comes with the void of heartbreak, the incredibly powerful and skillful duo of Javed Bashir & Akbar Ali cascade through the contours and complexities of Raag Bhairvi. The hues of the raag are further evoked through a confluence of the ethereal drone of the sarangi and a prolific guitar solo by Amir Zaki, exuding a sense of melancholy. Playing with the fluidity of the raag, the track is a masterful excursion that resonates with the profundity of sorrow. Man Kunto Maula, Javed Bashir & Ali Azmat, Episode 2, Coke Studio Season 9 Music Directed by Jaffer Zaidi Produced by Strings In a signature Coke Studio format, the platform has called on the talents of Ali Azmat and Javed Bashir to collaborate and take things to the next level on ‘Man Kunto Maula’. The enigmatic sound is made possible with words of Ali Azmat’s part penned by Sabir Zafir, coming together effortlessly with the kalaam of Hazrat Ameer Khusro. Ali Azmat takes the lead on the verses in his familiar pop-rock vocals, and as the song progresses the heartfelt voice of Javed Bashir grips one ever so tightly. The duos vocals work seamlessly together, as the house band graces the track with their precise and decisive contribution, and the humnawa provide repeating hook for the chorus...
Robert Picardo ftw.
Music Directed by Faakhir Mehmood Produced by Strings On ‘Jhalliya’ – the duo, Javed Bashir and Masooma Anwar stay familiarly close to their dual strengths. With a bracing blend of swift guitar, the track opens in an intimate atmosphere as Shahzad Nawaz makes a guest appearance narrating words by Bulleh Shah at intervals. In the original composition by Faakhir Mehmood, and additional lyrics by Sabir Zafar and Javed Bashir, this sufi-style rendition builds into something with much more energy, spirit and life. The high-pitched vocals of Javed and the deep tones of Masooma, strikingly fuse with an unstoppable groove, a bouncing chorus and a flickering drumbeat. #CokeStudio9
